the LPCC Board of Directors.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Attendance at all rehearsals, concerts and extra rehearsals must be mandatory if the objectives of the LPCC choral program are to be maintained.
LPCC’s "Pre-Arranged Absence Form" may be obtained from at the registration table before rehearsals, or on line at our web page -- www.LPCCsing.org., and must be turned in at the registration table at least two weeks before any missed rehearsal. Two unexcused absences may mean your child will not be allowed to perform with his/her choir. . If your child does not regularly attend rehearsals, he/she will not be allowed to perform with his/her choir in our concerts. This policy is not to punish the child, but to preserve the high standard we have for our choirs
If for any reason a child cannot actively participate in a rehearsal, he/she should observe quietly and attentively in their regularly assigned seat.
If a child cannot attend a rehearsal or performance due to illness
or an emergency, call or e-mail your child’s choral director as
soon as possible. (listed above)
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
The selection of music performed by LPCC is at the discretion of the Choral Directors. Patriotic and Christmas music, including music of a religious nature, will be performed, and each choir member will sing the entire repertoire of his/her choir. All performances are mandatory.
Each choir member is given a rehearsal CD and a song sheet to practice with between rehearsals. All music is to be committed to memory. Only those choir members who fulfill that obligation will perform at the specified event for which that music is required.
REHEARSAL REQUIREMENTS
Parents are welcome to attend any LPCC rehearsals. To ensure that
your child’s work with LPCC is an exciting and enjoyable time of
learning, it is essential that every minute of our rehearsal be used
wisely. Therefore, these rehearsal rules must be followed by all of our
LPCC members:
1. Be in your place five to ten minutes before the rehearsal begins.
2. No gum, candy, cold drinks, etc. during rehearsals. (Water bottles are great!)
3. Hats are not to be worn during rehearsals by boys or girls.
4. Be respectful to all adults and children at all times.
NOTE: Any child who is disrespectful, or who is disruptive during rehearsal, will be warned. If the problem persists, a parent will be contacted, and the child will be sent home from the rehearsal. A parent or guardian must then accompany that child to the next choir rehearsal. If the problem is not resolved, the disruptive child will not be allowed to continue in the LPCC choral program. This policy is not designed to punish the child, but to preserve the high standard we have for our choirs.
REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE FACILITIES
The churches we use for rehearsals and performances have graciously allowed us to use their facilities. Please respect the church buildings and grounds at all times. There will be no horse-play inside the church buildings. No smoking is allowed in any church building, restroom, steps, sidewalk or anywhere on the church grounds. Please explain this to your guests before performances so no one need be embarrassed.
PERFORMANCE DATES
You will receive monthly updated schedules regarding any additional
rehearsals and/or performances. These updates will also be emailed to
you. Please make sure LPCC has your current email address.
