CHORALE, CHORUS, AND APPRENTICE

MUSICIANSHIP CLUB REQUIREMENTS

 

These are the requirements for those Chorus Members who wish to join the Musicianship Club.  Musicianship Club members are the most musically advanced members of the Chorus.  Membership in the Musicianship Club is required for those who wish to audition for Chorale in  May.  (Completing Book 1 - A Young Singer's Journey, is also a requirement for auditioning for Chorale - but NOT a requirement for the Musicianship Club.)

Those who audition and make it into the Musicianship Club will be honored at the Awards Concerts with a special Musicianship Club Certificate.

Auditions are held weekly from 4:15 - 4:30


Chorus:  Musicianship Club Requirement

 

1. Sing the doh scale (d r m f s l t d` t l s f m r d) -  a cappella – with hand signs – in tune – in the key of D major.

2. Sing the d-m-s chord (d m s m d) - a cappella – with hand signs – in tune – in the keys of C, F and G major.

3. Sing a doh pentatonic scale (d r m s l ) a cappella –  by following

Ms. Karen’s hand signs.  These are EXAMPLES – not the test.

4. Sight-read a song from the Workbook #1 Songbook, pages 2 – 5.

Chorale Master Musician’s Club Requirements
1.  Completion of Theory Books #1 & 2
2.  Pass with 90% accuracy, the Solfege Drill test.
3.   Sight-read passage equivalent to the State Festival sight-reading requirements.
