Apprentice Choir

The Apprentice Choir, directed by Barbara Walker and Robin Truax, is a beginning level kindergarten through third grade choir. Barbara Walker, a certified Kodály Method instructor, teaches two classes and directs the choir. Robin Truax, a certified Orff Method instructor, teaches two classes and arranges Orff accompaniments for the Apprentice Choir.

Chorus - 3rd- 9th grade Intermediate Choir
Chorus

The Chorus is our “founding” choir, the oldest choral group in LPCC. Chorus is an intermediate entry-level, non-auditioned choir for 3rd grade through 9th grade children. Barbara Walker and Karen McGibboney work with Chorus. Chorus was the only children’s choir selected to perform at the 2009 Louisiana State Vocal Conference.

Chorale - Audition Only 4th - 12th grade Choir

Domestic tours include: Old North Church in Boston, Carnegie Hall in New York City, Disneyworld in Orlando, St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, and the Lincoln Memorial and many other venues in Washington, D.C. Chorale has performed six seasons with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, has been featured in a Louisiana state educational music promotion video, and has performed for Former President Bush and Louisiana governor Jindal. Chorale has performed during LSU basketball games and for local television specials. They have represented Livingston Parish in multiple performances at the Louisiana State Vocal Conference.

The Chorale is a 4th – 12th grade auditioned choir. Chorale has received superior ratings and rave reviews in every contest and festival they have ever entered. Chorale is a touring choir, traveling to amazing locations and performing in amazing venues.  Other international tours included: Mexico, with a performance at Casa Hogar in Merida, a unique school for underpriviledged boys; Italy, with performances in St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican; Musica nel Mondo Chiesa Militare S. Giuliana, Perugia; Chiesa Santa Maria dei Ricci, Florence; and Chiesa Sant’Antonio Abate, Marostica; Austria, with performances in St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Salzburg, Dom and England with performances in Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, St. Martin-in the-Fields, Trafalgar Square in London, All Saint's Church in York, and Collegiate Church of St. Mary in Warwick.
