REGINA WALKER:LPCC Co-Founder, received both her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Piano degrees from LSU. Mrs. Walker writes many of the choral arrangements performed by our LPCC choirs. Regina Walker is a nationally known choral director, and has taught private studio voice and piano in Livingston Parish since 1959. The Denham Springs Boys Choir under her direction (1960-1965), is considered an outstanding part of Denham Springs history. From 1976-1981, she taught choral music at Central High School where her choirs consistently received superior ratings at district and state choral competitions. Mrs. Walker was awarded the 1997 distinguished Contributions to Music Education Award presented by the Louisiana State University School of Music Alumni Association. She was nominated by the Arts Council of Greater Denham Springs for the Governor’s Arts Award 2000 for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts, and was selected to be listed in the Arts Council of Greater Denham Springs’s Hall of Fame. Regina Walker was selected as the 2007 Baton Rouge Music Teachers Association’s Outstanding Educator of the Year for her lifetime contributions to music in Louisiana.

Mrs. Regina is a tireless promoter of LPCC, an avid golfer, and loves to go fishing with her husband, Dr. Edwin Walker. This year,  Dr. Ed and Mrs. Regina began a new hobby: Ballroom dancing!
